Have you managed to track this down, because I've been battling this for a few days now. I have no clue what might be causing it. Thought it was Rigmor of Cyrodiil, but probably not.As a matter of fact I just did. Its either racemenu mod or one of the bodypaints mods that rely on it. I will need to experiment a bit more, but disabling former solved the issue.Well, seems that didn't solve it for me.
I also have candles and lights flickering on and off constantly (hundreds of times a minute). Those shadows flicker constantly as well, mostly in 3rd person, but reduced in 1st person. Guessing its meshes of some kind, because I can turn off my entire load order in the right pane, but they're still activited in the left pane, meaning meshes and such might still be conflicting. Can't figure which are the culprit. That's the strangest thing!
This exact thing has been happening to me since this morning, and I haven't the slightest idea why! It just showed up out of nowhere. But what's also strange is it goes away completely if I wear a helmet. But it has to be a helmet that covers my head, circlets won't work.
On top of that weird shadow the lighting turns very warm like orange unless I put a helmet on.Edit: After testing around in Racemenu I found out 'what' the shadow is in my case. It changes every time I change the hairstyles.
It even sometimes perfectly replicates some of them. Will try completely removing them to see if it still persists.Edit two: Well changing the hair removed the small shadow, but now the screen is spazing out every millisecond it seems flashing giant shadows and streaks of it all over the place. When I open racemenu the shadows look like they are on a 3 dimensional place and as I move my characters head, they stay level with the characters eyes.

Share on:Become a legend by using a legend with one of these bad boys. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is packed with so much loot that no two players are likely to have the same inventories after a couple of minutes of play. Weapons are of course vitally important – but which should you choose? With Skyrim out now on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR, we’re revisiting our Skyrim guides to make sure that new adventurers have everything they need to get the most of out this enormous game.
![Weapon Weapon](/uploads/1/2/3/9/123936839/997428160.jpg)
In this guide, we’re talking weapons. In truth there’s not so much an absolute ‘best’ weapon in Skyrim thanks to the fact that some careful use of enchantments and other mechanics can make just about any weapon viable at any difficulty – even your bare fists! With that said, some of the most famous weapons in the game are the unique weapons – special weapons that can be found in specific places or through certain quests. Each unique weapon has its own set properties, a unique name, and very often an enchantment that’ll give it some special edge or another. While we highly recommend you explore and see what you can see, here’s a few of our favourite unique weapons in Skyrim for each type of weapon – and where to find them.Skyrim Unique Weapons: The Best DaggersThere are over ten unique daggers in the game, but we’re going to focus down on a couple that we think are particularly excellent. If you’re a stealth-driven character build, these could prove significant weapons for you for quite some time. Mehrune’s RazorMehrune’s Razor is a decent little dagger thanks to its base damage stat of 11, but what really sets it apart is its enchantment.
Any hit with Mehrune’s Razor has a chance to instantly kill, which is just an excellent power. In order to get Mehrune’s Razor you’ll want to complete the quest ‘Pieces of the Past’ and at the end of the quest kill Silus Vesuius. You’ll be invited to do this quest once you hit level 20 via a courier, or you can stumble upon the quest by hanging out around Dawnstar; NPCs will mention Silus’ museum, which is where you have to go in order to trigger the mission. Blade of WoeThis dagger is even more powerful than Mehrune’s Razor with a base damage stat of 12, and its enchantment is useful for slugfest fights – each hit absorbs 10 points of health. The Blade of Woe can be received from an NPC during the Death Incarnate quest, part of quest line. You can also follow the early steps of their quest line and kill Astrid during the With Friends Like These quest line. You’ll be able to take the Blade of Woe from her body, but you’ll no longer be able to join the brotherhood.Skyrim Unique Weapons: The Best MacesThere’s a more scant number of unique maces in the game, but some of them are still pretty impressive. Maces are really for people who are looking to build a real power-house of a character. Of the unique maces, we only really think one is particularly impressive, but it’s a good one.
The Mace of Molag BalThis Daedric artifact is pretty powerful with a base damage stat of 16. It also comes with an ecnhantment that deals 25 damage to Stamina and Magicka as well as the health damage you’ll do. On top of all that, if the target dies within 3 seconds, you’ll fill a soul gem.The mace is given to you after you complete the Daedric Quest House of Horrors. In the city of Markarth a chap called Tyranus will ask you to help search an abandoned house. As soon as you enter the house – with or without his prompting – this quest will start. Finish the quest, get the mace.
Skyrim Unique Weapons: The Best SwordsSwords are of course the most common class of weapon you’ll find in Skyrim, and there are a whole lot of unique ones scattered throughout the world. There’s way more than we can cover, and many of them are pretty damn good but we’ve narrowed down just a few of our absolute favourites and where to find them. Miraak’s SwordPlayers of the original Skyrim might not know of Miraak’s Sword since it was added in the Dragonborn DLC – but it’s pretty damn good. It absorbs stamina thanks to its enchantment and it’s got a solid damage stat.To get your hands on it, you’ll have to start the Dragonborn quests by travelling to the island of Solstheim. Once you’re ready, two cultists will tell you of ‘the first dragonborn’ and attempt to kill you. This will kick off the DLC quest line.
After several quests you’ll end up on the final Dragonborn quest, At the Summit of Apocrypha. You’ll be able to grab this weapon as loot off a corpse towards the end of this quest. It’s a long process to get to it, but it’s worth it. ChillrendThe Chillrend is a glass sword (which always sounds like a bad idea, but don’t argue with Elder Scrolls logic) and it’s great for enemies weak to frost damage. Its enchantment deals out frost damage and has a chance of paralysing enemies on top of a decent base damage output. The weapon is held by the Thieves Guild leader Mercy Frey. The easiest way to access this is to find it in Frey’s house during the Thieves Guild quest ‘The Purist’.
It’s proudly displayed in a case and has an expert lock waiting to be picked. Keep in mind that this is a leveled weapon, so just how good it is will be determined by your level – it’ll always be excellent for your character level when you first enter its location. DragonbaneYou spend an awful lot of your time in Skyrim fighting dragons, so a sword that’s designed to fell them is useful, no? The Dragonbane’s enchantment means it does extra damage to dragons, while it’ll deal shock damage to all other enemies. This sword is leveled, so its performance will be partially determined by your level when you first enter its location. The Dragonsbane katana is found in the Sky Haven Temple during the quest Alduin’s Wall – which is an important step in the game’s main story. You want to look for a room just off to the side of the main chamber of the temple – you’ll find it with some blades armor. Soulrender and BloodscytheTwo more weapons that were added in the Dragonborn DLC, these two swords were designed to be dual-wielded together.
When they are, they both gain powerful enchantments to absorb magicka and health while lowering a target’s defenses against further physical and magic attacks. You’ll need to hit up the Dragonborn quest line to reach Solstheim. Once level 36 or higher find a copy of a book, Deathbrand, inside Tel Mithryn or Raven Rock temple.
You’ll get both these weapons via the resultant quest. Gauldur BlackbladeThe Gauldur Blackblade is another leveled weapon, meaning its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first enter its location. The best version is at level 36. It’s a pretty good sword and can be upgraded, however, and has a health-healing enchantment by default. Being an ancient nord weapon, the dwarven smithing perk will help you to make it even more deadly. The sword can be grabbed during the quest Forbidden Legend.
You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends – this will kick off the quest to investigate the legend of Gauldur. If you don’t find one of the books naturally, you’ll find one on a dead adventurer’s body in Reachwater rock. Later in the quest you’ll end up in the ruins of Golgunthur – you’ll end up in a fight, and this sword is the reward.Skyrim Unique Weapons: The Best War AxesWar Axes are a less refined all-out-combat weapon than the sword, but there’s still some rather fetching unique ones available in Skyrim. We’ve picked out a couple of favourites. OkinOkin is a stupidly cool looking noredic war axe.
It dishes out frost damage to both health and stamina and has a solid base damage stat of 12. It can also be upgraded and can have upgrades doubled with the steel smithing perk.To get your hands on Okin you’ll want to do the Silenced Tongues quest. You can find this by ending Volunruud and exploring around – you’ll find notes that’ll begin to push you towards the quest. Eventually, you’ll obtain this weapon as a reward.
There’s a decent sister weapon to this too, a sword called Eduj. It drops at the same time. Dawnguard Rune AxeAs this weapon’s name suggests, this is found as part of the Dawnguard DLC pack. It dishes out sun damage to undead, and the amount of damage it does increases with every undead you’ve killed with the axe since the last sunrise – a unique effect.
It has some solid damge output too.To get this weapon, simply. You’ll eventually come across the quest Lost Relic. These are radiant quests where you’re sent to find a random artifact, but if you keep doing these missions you’ll eventually get this item. Skyrim Unique Weapons: The best Battleaxes, Greatswords and WarhammersIn a cruel twist of fate for you beefy, two-handed wielding weapon lovers, there’s less two-handed unique weapons in Skyrim than single handed swords alone. As such, we’ve grouped them together. There’s some pretty tasty battleaxes, greatswords and warhammers available, so here are our picks. Wuuthrad BattleaxeIf you’re a little bit bias against elves, well, this is the weapon for you.
It does even more damage to elves, and that’s on top of its nasty base damage stat of 25. It also looks pretty bloody cool, to be honest. You’ll want to tackle the quest Glory of the Dead, and to do that you’ll have to. Glory of the Dead is the final quest for this faction. Once you place the Wuuthrad on the statue, activate the statue – you’ll get the Wuuthrad, which was previously a temporary acquisition, back for good. Rueful AxeThe Rueful Axe is described as an axe powerful enough to have a lot of fun with, and that makes sense – it has a base damage stat of 22 and deals out stamina damage as well. It can also be upgraded. The Axe can be found in the Daedric quest A Daedra’s Best Friend.
Once you’re level 10 or higher, you’ll want to find Lod near Falkreath’s entrance. When given the cahcne, kill Barbas with the axe. You must use the axe to slay him. You get to keep it as a reward. Bloodskal BladeOriginally added in the Dragonborn DLC, tis hefty greatsword releases an energy blast whenever you do a powered up attack. Even the energy blast deals out a nasty 30 damage. You’ll want to start the main Dragonborn quest and then eventually head to Raven Rock Mine for this sidequest.
Chat to Crescius in the entrance to the mine and the quest The Final Descent begins. You’ll find the blade next to the remains of Gratian later in the quest, inside Bloodskal Barrow. Volendrung WarhammerThis massive hammer has a bit of an evil look about it and has an absolutely ridiculous base damage stat of 47. It also absorbs stamina, very useful for a weapon of this size and this deadly nature. You’ll get this weapon as a reward from the Daedric Prince himself as part of the quest The Cursed Tribe. In order to kick this quest off, you’ll want to head to the orc stronghold of Largashbur. Try to save the life of the orc Ugor, who will then help you out and get you on the road with this quest.
Dawnguard Rune HammerThe Dawnguard Rune Warhammer isn’t the most powerful hammer going with its base damage stat of 22, but it’s the enchantment that gets us excited. Hitting a surface places a rune on the surface, and that rune explodes to deal fire damage when enemies touch it.All you have to do in order to get this hammer is keep doing the Lost Relic quests that come as part of Dawnguard. These quests are random, but eventually one of them will net you this excellent hammer as loot.Skyrim Unique Weapons: The best bowsBows are useful for anybody who isn’t just being a meathead run-in-and-swing type in Skyrim and even on occasion useful for those folks too. There’s a few with some very useful perks and enchantments. Here’s our favourite picks for ranged combat.
The Nightingale BowThe Nightingale Bow actually belongs to Karliah, a member of the thieves guild and temporary follower of the dragonborn for some quests for that guild. Its enchantment allows it to freeze and shock the target, which is very handy. It’s a leveled weapon, so its strength will be impacted by your level when you obtain it. The best version is at level 46 and up.To get your hands on Karliah’s bow you’ll have to join the Thieves Guild and follow its quest line. Towards the end of that series of quests you’ll get the quest Blindsighted. This bow is a reward for finishing that quest. That quest gets you the skeleton key too, so it’s a very useful quest indeed.
Glass Bow of the Stag PrinceThis bow isn’t just about its flowery name – it also comes with an enchantment that blesses you for every 20 animals you kill with the bow – ideal for hunting. The blessing does max out, but it provides significant boosts to health and stamina while the bow is equipped. You can get the bow from Falas Selvayn at the Ramshackle Trading Post. That’s on the island of Solstheim, so that’s part of the Dragonborn DLC. It’s as simple as that. Gauldur BlackbowThe Gauldur Blackbow is another leveled weapon, meaning its effectiveness will be determined by your level when you first enter its location. The best version is at level 36.
It has a sister sword (mentioned earlier on) and this bow absorbs magicka with its enchantment.Like the sword, the bow can be grabbed during the quest Forbidden Legend. You can start this quest by reading the book Lost Legends – this will kick off the quest to investigate the legend of Gauldur. If you don’t find one of the books naturally, you’ll find one on a dead adventurer’s body in Reachwater rock. The quest will eventually take you to Geirmund’s Hall where you’ll fight Sigdis Gauldurson. The bow is your reward.

Lore Friendly Weapon Mods Skyrim
Provide all necessary information. See for more information.Related Subreddits.Related Websites. (NSFW). You can install all three if you want! You'll just need to make a bashed patch so that they are all distributed in the leveled lists. That being said, I only use Heavy Armory.
It adds so much more variety to the vanilla weapons, and nothing seems out of place at all. Everything is categorized accordingly (i.e.
Hatchets are affected by perks/spells that affect war axes, mauls are affected by weapons/perks that affect maces, etc.). Immersive Weapons adds a lot of unique looking weapons, some of which are not really in line with vanilla (not lore-unfriendly, necessarily, just a bit too out of place for my tastes). I used to run it all the time but I've recently uninstalled it.
![Skyrim Se Lore Weapon Expansion Skyrim Se Lore Weapon Expansion](/uploads/1/2/3/9/123936839/887487480.jpg)
Lore Weapons Expansion is something I really want to try out, but I'm waiting until it's a little more completed, so I don't have any experience with it. I've never used Lore Weapons Expansion, but it looks okay, and might be the best of the bunch!
Seems pretty fun, adding in weapons from past games.Immersive Weapons and its counterpart, Immersive Armors, from what I understand, has a few compatibility issues with other mods. It adds a lot.
Almost too much, and it ends up being filling your crafting menus with clutter unless you're using Complete Crafting Overhaul (CCO). And you'd best be using CCO, because in my experience, having too many items in the craft menus can cause a CTD. Also, like another commenter has said, some of those weapons look out of place, and not just because of lore-unfriendliness, but because of their textures.Heavy Armory adds new weapons with differing ranges/speeds/damages that use normal perks (i.e. If the perk, vanilla or modded, affects swords, it'll affect shortspears and shortswords). That being said, however, I found that the differing effects were barely noticeable in-game, except for the two-handed spear. The two-handed spear is disappointingly OP, as spear-wielding AI do not seem to take advantage of the extra range, while at the same time allowing you to hide behind or ontop of a rock, table, or other obstacle and smack away at them with a spear of your own. Even worse, most of the newly added weapons feel vastly inferior to the vanilla weapons.
(One of the added weapon types, clubs, are purposely inferior in every way! What's even the point?).If I could recommend one weapon mod to you though, I would recommend. AoT2 separates equipment (weapons and armor) material from style, allowing you to find things like a Iron Dunmeri Shield. Styles of the same material have slightly different stats from each other, but the differences aren't usually enough to cause you to wield one weapon style over the other, allowing you to wield whatever style fits your character (e.g. A Steel Redguard Cutlass for your Redguard character). For example, Dremora-style weapons are designed for maximum pain and will have at least 1 extra damage over other styles). Materials are unlocked via Smithing perks while Styles are unlocked by reading books on the equipment style (example: the mod adds a book called 'Smith: The Redoran Legacy' which gives you Dunmeri recipes); reading the book again removes the recipes to prevent craft menu clutter.
Some styles are rarer than others; Nordic, for example, is quite common in Skyrim. In addition, the mod changes tempering to a gem-based system (i.e. Weapons of very hard materials can only be sharpened with diamonds, while iron and steel weapons are sharpened with corundum.), adds the ability to enchant equipment through smithing (through Dragon Runes found in dungeons, as well as other methods), overhauls the appearance of unique weapons (like Wuuthrad and Red Eagle's Fury, to name a few), and adds all of these weapons and armors to the leveled list so you'll find bandits and the like using them. Why isn't Armoury of Tamriel II on the Nexus? Are the meshes directly extracted from the other games or something similar?I'll give it a try, looks pretty lore friendly.About the topic, I'm in the same side as Immersive Weapons adds too much stuff that doesn't fit on the game art. Some meshes feels too unique and with texture colors that are way too far to match Skyrim's color spectrum. And the way it adds the weapons too some NPC make it incompatible with some mods like CRF (you need to merge the changes made at CRF into a patch). As a personal note, I only use Heavy Armory 2.4B and Unique Uniques 1.8 on my 'weapons' category.
Skyrim has been out for a long time, and by this time most people have finished the game. There’s no doubt that it’s an amazing game that brings hours of gameplay with unique quests and foes. However, after a while, there’s not much you can do in the game. To make more out of this immensely popular game, different mods have been created. These mods can range from the improvement in the quality of the surroundings to mods that make stuff blow up for no reason. Before we get on to the best Skyrim mods, let’s see how you can apply them. How to Apply Skyrim Mods.
For people who do not know how to apply these mods, you will only need to click on the link of the mod you want and subscribe to it. It will download and apply itself from the Steam workshop. Some mods are not available there, so instead, we are including links to the mods. You should also download the. This will help in applying more complicated mods. So, now that you know how to apply Skyrim mods, here are the 25 best Skyrim Mods you should definitely try: The Top Skyrim Mods You Should Try 1. Relighting SkyrimIf you have played Skyrim, or you’ve just started, you must have noticed light coming from illogical sources.
There are doors which emit light, or maybe there isn’t any realistic directional light. To fix this and make Skyrim more graphically appealing, you can apply this mod.
What this mod does is that it reprograms the game entirely to make lighting effects much better in the game. Light only emits from fires, stars, and other sources of light rather than basic non-luminous objects like benches and rocks.2. 2K TexturesIf you have a top of the line PC with bleeding edge specs, you should try this mod out. Skyrim – being a relatively old title – lacks some fine details and textures, and although there is an HD patch, this mod goes beyond that as well.
This mod offers textures at up to 4K (2160p) resolution. It completely changes the visuals in the game. Having these details makes the game more appealing and life-like, at the cost of some fps, as this mod does tax the GPU.3. Apocalypse Spells ModNot all the various Skyrim mods enhance the visuals in the game, the modding community has some amazing mods to spice up your gameplay and adds features which are immensely fun to play with.
The Apocalypse Spells mod adds a lot to your game; 140 spells, to be exact. These spells range from calling of basic objects to smashing enemies, to summoning ferocious tornadoes that suck everything in their path. These spells are designed very well and play well with the history and tone of Skyrim.4. Alternate StartIf you have completed the game and want a new beginning, you can try out this mod. The Alternative Start mod offers a lot of different starting points as different characters. The characters are all different and fit in Skyrim’s storyline perfectly. The mod is integrated into your game and you can start an alternate new story in the game.
You can start as a farmer, a necromancer or many other characters of your choosing. This provides an interesting spin in the original gameplay, and characters like the shipwrecked guy on an island with nothing but the rags make for an amazing survival styled gameplay.5. Moonpath to ElsweyrExploring the same place for a long time can get boring, right? To bring new landscapes and gameplay to Skyrim, you can use this mod.
This mod gets you to Elsweyr – a beautiful landscape with forests and wilderness. You can hunt and stalk your prey and even explore Elsweyr with the short six quests. All the characters of Elsweyr are carefully created with voice acting. This mod pairs up well with the 2K Textures mod shown above, as the landscape of Elsweyr is beautiful and using those textures makes them come to life.6. Cutting Room FloorThe Skyrim world is vast. It is filled with many creatures, characters, and different landscapes. The game itself is well around 100 hours but, if you have completed and explored everything, you might want to check this mod out.Cutting Room Floor will enable you to dwell deeper into Skyrim, as this allows you to explore things which did not make the final cut of Skyrim.
The mod shows you all new quests, NPCs, and many items, which were taken out.7. Monster MayhemBattling monsters is fun, but beating the same monsters over and over again gets boring. The thrill of facing new and unknown creatures cannot be replicated. To remedy this problem, the Monster Mayhem Mod comes into play.
This mod introduces many new creatures to the Skyrim world. It opens a slew of different levels, each with their own unique behemoth. Battling these monsters is thrilling and gives what most people want – more things to kill.8. Duel Combat RealismDuel offers an amazing fix to the unrealistic combat system in Skyrim. It completely changes how every battle is fought. It forces users to pay close attention to the stamina bar, as it becomes vital for survival. This mod ties in your armor and your weapons to bring realism.
If you use a good shield, it can actually stop the attack completely. This means users need to be tactical and use both defense and offense if they desire victory.9. Reverse CraftingThe Reverse Crafting mod brings a much-needed feature to Skyrim. In plain old Skyrim, if players on their quests find something useless like a lower tier sword, that item is thrown away.
![Skyrim Se Lore Weapon Expansion Skyrim Se Lore Weapon Expansion](/uploads/1/2/3/9/123936839/271993964.jpg)
You can not reuse its materials to make something else. This mod brings that feature to Skyrim. If you find a junk item, you can recycle it and re-purpose its materials.
This makes the overall gameplay better for the players because the materials can be easily used somewhere else for bigger and better things.10. Bandolier Extra InventoryThe world of Skyrim is a vast one, with many items and weapons. On your quests, you will find many items, and many are of use, so choosing between them can become a daunting task. This mod allows your character to hold more items than in plain Skyrim. This way, you can have all the items you need without opting to leave anything behind.11.
Open CitiesSkyrim has a lot of loading screens, and everyone knows how frustrating loading screens can be. They tend to ruin the flow of the gameplay; especially when you cannot even stroll in a city without them being loaded. To solve this issue, this mod comes into play. This mod banishes all loading screens when you are in the city. This means you are free to roam around in the city, without the annoying loading taking place.
A simple mod, yet a frustration reliever.12. Castle Volkihar ReduxThis mod is as grand as they come. It produces a fully built castle with extremely accurate textures and details. The castle is a complete construction with eerie corridors and dungeons. It is a thing of beauty to look at but is not only about the beauty.
This grand castle comes with its very own quest line, which is set after the events of Dawnguard.13. Tundra DefenseSkyrim’s quests are pretty fun to play and offer a lot of action and quests. However, you sometimes might want to slack off and just chill.
This is where the Tundra Defense mod comes in. This mod introduces a tower defense style mini-game in which you build your tower and then defend it. The mod is well built and makes you more responsible, as you need to defend your ground, else it will be overrun. You can hire guards to help defend your creation, have citizens settle in, or even trigger attacks by yourself for instant action.14. Sky UINow a lot of you might not like the stock UI that Skyrim offers and I don’t blame you.
The UI does feel a little bit clunky and you can easily get something a whole lot more intuitive by using a mod. I would recommend that you try out Sky UI – a great UI replacement for Skyrim which will surely improve the way you interact with the game.
The mod offers a much more convenient inventory management system, support for full text search, sorting and extended data columns. The mod also offers complete customization, among a ton of other features, which makes it one of my go-to mods every time I think of doing another quick play through of Skyrim.15.
Return Of AtlantisThe lost city – Atlantis – has made its way to Skyrim with this mod. Through this mod, Atlantis rises from the depths of the seas to give you more ways to interact with Skyrim. This mod fits well with the Skyrim lore and offers a lot of beautiful scenery, as well as different characters for you to explore. This dungeon is filled with merman, whirlpools, and agents of Hades. The dungeon is 4 hours long, and you need to fight a challenging boss after the four-hour exploration of the ten chambers present in this dungeon.16. FalskaarThe Falskaar mod is one of the most impressive mods out there. This mod creates a whole new continent, with a whopping 25 hours of gameplay.
The creation of Falskaar took nearly 2000 hours, and the creator now works at Bungie, creating Destiny. We encourage anyone who reads this to give this mod a try.
